"The idea is not to pull the community towards introspection, but to provide a space flexible, safe, and sublime enough where they can explore themselves and their surrounding."
- from the presentation in 2012

Conducted in 2012 as a student at the Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology, this workshop was designed and facilitated by Romik Mitra, Karman Nanda, Himani Auplish and Aishwarya Kumar

The session was a pilot for us and for the community we lived in during our years in college. It was meant to help us understand our position in society as artists, designers, researchers and facilitators. A method that allowed us to realise our approach to design thinking and social design.

This very organic set up, the clay was sourced from our college studio and the twigs, fabric and paints were contributed by ex-students, faculty and participants.

Initially planned for children, the 3 hours saw parents and older students of our college come in and take part. We had hoped to understand the community, their aspirations, aesthetics and associations through this pilot.

The facilitators of this project have gone on to become graphic designers, architects in the field of sustainable design, alternative education and performing art practitioners and visual designers.
